Participation and prizes at the 10th Annual Symposium of the Student Association in Public Health at Université de Montréal (AÉÉSPUM)
Three members of Dr. Jack Siemiatycki’s team participated and presented their work at the 10th Annual Symposium of the Student Association in Public Health at the Université de Montréal (AÉÉSPUM), February 18. Mr. Romain Pasquet, Ms. Hartley Dutczak and Ms.Mengting Xu all gave excellent presentations in this symposium and epidemiology was well represented. All of them were selected for oral presentations, rather than displayed posters. To top it all, Ms. Xu won the Jury Prize for her presentation and Ms. Dutczak won the Audience Prize for her presentation of 3 minutes.
Ms. Hartley Dutczak presentations:
1) A presentation of 9 minutes entitled “Exposure to Stressful Life Events and Lung Cancer Risk”
2) A presentation of 3 minutes entitled “What are the factors that predict smoking initiation among adolescents results of a systematic review? She received the Audience Prize for her presentation.
Ms. Mengting Xu presentation:
1) A 9-minute presentation entitled “Trends and characteristics of response rates in case-control studies of cancer “. She won the Jury Prize.
Mr. Romain Pas presentation:
1) A 3 minute presentation entitled “The association between occupational exposure to metals and brain cancer”.
